REVIEW:: My two cents on the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone's had an exciting countdown to 2015! So I figured I'd share the product of the year (yes THE product of the year) that I cannot have possibly repurchased more or talked more about to everyone in 2014.

The Sugar Lip Treatment by Fresh!

Fresh has come up with basically two types of lip balms- one being the normal Sugar Lip Treatment which has SPF15 (which also comes in various tinted versions) and the other (slightly more expensive) one being the Sugar Advanced Therapy and does not have SPF.

I have loved these lip balms and have tried the Tinted Lip Treatments and the Advanced Therapy as well as the normal Lip Treatment without any tint (even though it is not shown in the picture as it is tucked at my office).

My personal favourite of Fresh's lip balms has to be the Sugar Advanced Therapy, which I have repurchased over and over again and am now on my fourth tube (or so). I can't even start to describe the wonders the Advanced Therapy does to me - it keeps my lips moisturized for hours and hours (if I don't drink or eat, I'm pretty sure it will just last the entire day - and its website does have "keep your lips moisturized for 24 hours" as one of its selling points). I have introduced it to my mum and she has sworn by it ever since - saying that it is the only lip product that helps REMOVE (not reduce) flakey, dry lips during the winter. I'm not so sure whether I see a difference in elasticity or smoother lips but it's definitely protected my sensitive lips against any environmental stress.

Second, let's talk about the tinted version of the Sugar Lip Treatments. I believe Fresh has, since the launch of its lip balms, came up with 10 different shades of the Sugar Lip Treatment with SPF15. Fresh SAs have insisted to me that formulation of these different shades are the same but I will have to disagree. I am not sure if it has to do with the colour pigmentation but my extremely sensitive lips is only able to handle the Sugar Lip Treatment in Rose (which I absolutely adore). I tend to dislike lipsticks or lip gloss as I just don't like re-applying make up. Tinted lip balms are perfect in giving your lips colour and looking natural even upon multiple applications. I find Rose to give the sheerest hint of colour that just gives you a healthier look - whilst all the other shades are quite pigmented (and sticky for some reason). I have tried the shades Petal and Passion and they both felt rather sticky and generally slightly uncomfortable on my lips for me. No trouble in this area with the Rose.

Another thing to note is that these lip balms do not contain any sort of preservatives, they melt a little bit quite easily (as in if you are in a heated or stuffy room and your lip balm is tucked in your bag, you may find it a bit icky when you take it out again in a few hours). They do coagulate again when you are in room temperature again so this do not really bother me.

These little sticks come in a very sturdy packaging in a twist open stick form - which is great for travelling! They are also VERY expensive with the Lip Treatments priced at HK$230 for 4.3g (0.5oz) and the Advanced Therapy priced at HK$250 for the same quantity, they are the most expensive lip balms I have ever purchased.

The Advanced Therapy is completely worth it for its unmatched quality, though I would not splurge again on the Lip Treatment with SPF even though they are great products.

Hope you enjoyed my two cents and Happy New Year!

INTRO+REVIEW:: Lucas' Papaw Ointment

Hello everyone! I've been meaning to talk about the Lucas' Papaw Ointment for a while now. The ointment is an Australian drugstore product with Papaya (Papaw) being its main ingredient.

I first encountered this miracle product when my mum brought some back from Aussie as she got bad mosquito bites and a local recommended it to her.

REVIEW:: Annie's Way Jelly Mask (Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid)

Happy Friday! I have recently purchased the Annie's Way Jelly Mask from Log-On in Hong Kong. The 250ml jar was only HK$125, which is a great deal! For those who haven't heard, Annie's Way is a really hit mask on the market now, and is a Taiwanese brand with the product also made in Taiwan.

The jelly mask comes in over 6 pots with different functions in addition to its main selling point, dragging out your sebum, blackheads/whiteheads and whatnot and in essence, just clearing your pores.

I chose the Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid Brightening Jelly Mask (I think it says "Brighting" on the packaging but...). Arbutin is a common and effective chemical that lightens/whitens/brightens (whatever you want to call it) your skin. Arbutin basically works to inhibit the production of melanin, which gives us our skin colour (not just that but also the colour of our hair, our eyes etc.). Arbutin is completely safe to use and is a common ingredient found in many brightening skincare products.

I don't think I have to emphasize on the moisturizing effect of hyaluronic acid but I found these to be a great combination as lightening chemicals usually have a slightly drying effect on your skin but the hyaluronic acid should balance it out perfectly.

SWATCH & REVIEW:: 3 Concept Eyes (3CE) Lip Products

Hope everyone has had a good weekend! A long due blog post on another haul of lip products from 3CE :) For those who has not yet heard of this Korean cosmetics brand - you can follow the link HERE to my first blog post about 3CE.

3CE produces a lot of lip products - no doubt due to the craze over Korean lippies (as seen on Korean celebs) and I picked up several of these to test out as they are relatively cheap for amazing quality!

REVIEW:: Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Happy weekend guys! I have been using the Fresh soy face cleanser for about a year now as my double up cleanser after makeup removal. The cleanser is a very gentle gel based cleanser that is suitable for all skin types. It is so gentle that you can even use it on your eyes.

Gel cleansers are my love during the terrible humid summers we experience here in Hong Kong. After using the Fresh soy face cleanser, my face does not only feel thoroughly cleansed but also instantaneously feel soft to the touch.
